And the prophet communicated a piece of confidential information to one of his wives, but when she divulged it to another, Allah made it known to him. He confirmed part of it and denied part of it. Then when he informed her of it, she said, "Who told you of this?" He said, "He told me Who is the Knower, the Aware of all things."

Maybe, if he divorce you, His Lord will give him in your stead wives better than you, who surrender their self-will (to Allah or His Messenger), who believe (or have faith), who are devoted (or pious, devout), who turn in repentance, who travel (or strive) for faith and fast (or abstain), widows or virgins.

O you who believe! Turn to Allah a sincere repentance; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter Gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the Day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands. They shall say, "Our Lord! Make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely you have power over all things."

Allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot: they were both under two of Our righteous servants, but they were false towards them so they (the husbands) availed them naught against Allah, and it was said, "Enter you the Fire with those (others) who enter it.
